Sometimes the past reveals itself even after the original structure/event has passed. It might add depth and dimension to our understanding of the place we occupy. Otherwise, we will likely label something irrelevant while missing an opportunity to be curious.

Earn the Relationship
Transactional human connections might be defined as associations, alliances, tie-ups, interconnections, and links. We earn trust through authentic interactions to define our connection as a relationship. What defines a meaningful relationship to you? How do you add depth and dimension to a treasured relationship? How disconnected are you willing to stretch from someone you trust before the relationship has been repaired or fractured? Is your limit more or less dynamic than a similar journey with an associate or alliance member?
How might we recognize that we earn relationships? How might we acknowledge that we have limited bandwidth and cannot foster limitless relationships? What steps have others taken to merit their relationships with you? What super powers do you bring to a relationship?
Blazes and Scars
When does defacing a tree serve the common good? Blazing a tree was a common form of marking a route in geography where trees existed in abundance. A uniform combination of markings symbolized that this was human-made and intentional. It contained meaning and assured travelers that they were on an established trail.
Animals also used trees to mark territory, sharpen claws, or satisfy natural instincts. These markings may be considered scars, even though the animal kingdom might believe that these marks served a similar purpose to a human blaze.
How might we expand our mindset to remain curious about the features we encounter during our journey? How might we not pass up the opportunity to double-click on the unknown so we might add depth and dimension to our understanding?
Your Tune
What is your soundtrack, and how is it played? If you are a church bell, the signature striking of the bell is played frequently during acceptable community hours. The bells can add dimension to the soundtrack of a community and amplify significant events and historic timestamps.
How does your soundtrack resonate in your region? How does it amplify your work?
Shadows
Is the above image an overexposed daytime shot or an underexposed nighttime photograph? When we are uncertain about the subject, it can frustrate us or increase our curiosity. If a full moon presents itself during a meteor shower, we probably miss the best viewing opportunities, but we might search for meteors visible on the periphery. If heavy clouds fill the evening sky, we might quickly give up hope of any viewing opportunities.
Shadows create opportunities to engage others more profoundly and create additional meaning. Or, they can isolate us and keep us from being visible to those searching for our services. How might we position ourselves so shadows add depth and dimension but do not obfuscate our work?
Depth and Dimension
When we add relief to a map, it adds depth and dimension to our understanding of the landscape. When we plan on paper, it is easy to draw a straight line between our current position and our future. The reality is we often forget to add the relief for a better understanding of the terrain we will encounter.
